There is one photograph for every month of the year. 5x7 photographs mounted on 11x14 museum quality mat board. Made from Kim's Mamiya RB 6x7. There is still time to join the Print of the Month Club. For more information about this special edition Portfolio and to sign up for our Print of the Month Club please visit our Subscription page.

Our 2007 Workshop year is coming to a close. We have 2 more workshops scheduled at Wildcat. The Studio Nude II is now full, please email to be put on waiting list if interested. The Figure in Platinum has openings. Please email for registration information or visit our Workshop page to get more information. This is your last chance this year to come and visit, to photograph with 2 renowned photographers, to platinum print in Edward Weston's darkroom and enjoy the California Coast in a workshop setting.

2007 Weston Photography Scholarship Auction
We had a very successful 2007 Weston Photography Scholarship Auction raising nearly $20,000 this year, which doubles last years efforts. Thanks to all of you that donated your photographs and time. Thanks to the Carmel Art Association for donating their beautiful gallery, Michael Jones and the Movable Feast for their wonderful appetizers and drinks. The Blackstone Winery for donating the wine, the media for the fine publications in our local newspapers honoring our winners photographs. And especially to all of you that have continued to support our scholarship program by participating in our online and local auctions and by donating to our cause. We really appreciate the support and the chance to keep Black and White Photography alive in our schools!

Museum of Fine Arts, Houston
In June we traveled to Houston Texas where we met our new friends Don & Chris Sanders. Don arranged for Kim to speak at the Museum of Fine Arts about his uncle Brett Weston's Show - Natural Abstractions. (Thank you Don!) It is a new acquisition for The MFAH, a gift of Christian K. Keesee and the Brett Weston Archive. We met and visited with Photography Curator Ann Tucker and the Photo Forum group. We also visited with an old friend, photographer Don Eddy. We had a fabulous time!

Alternative Photo International Symposium
In July we drove out to Santa Fe for the Alternative Photo International Symposium (APIS) sponsored by Bostick and Sullivan. Kim gave a lecture with a power point presentation representing his photography career starting with his very early black and white landscape images to his contemporary painted photographs. Also speaking at the conference was photographer Ronald Partridge, Imogen Cunningham's son. He talked and passed his beautiful platinum prints around the audience for everyone to see and after signed his book "The Quizzical Eye". Ron at 90 has more energy than a lot of people I know! We met his daughter Meg and her husband. What a treat! As a matter of fact there were a lot of people we knew there. Photographers that had taken our workshops, stayed in Bodie House, platinum printers we had met in Los Angeles. It was amazing. We had a booth next door to the conference in the PhotoArts Market. It featured booths with 25 local and national photographers exhibiting and selling their fine art photographic prints. It also included 30 booths of national photographic equipment and supply manufacturers demonstrating and selling their products through the Santa Fe Camera Center and Midwest Photo Exchange.

Call for Entries: Center for Fine Art Photography, Fort Collins CO.
While we were in Santa Fe we met Larry Padgett from The Center for Fine Art Photography and Tim Anderson of The CameraArts Magazine. They are partnering to bring photographers a unique opportunity to promote their work and talent. The November/December issue of CameraArts will be dedicated to showcasing the images selected for this collectors edition. The exhibition is open worldwide to amateurs and professions working in film, digital and mixed media. They are very excited and motivated people and hope you will consider entering this exciting contest. Kim and I are going to be working together with Larry on several different projects, a juried show and a figure workshop next year in 2008.

Edward Weston Exhibition: Enduring Vision
And last but not least we traveled back down to Los Angeles to see the Edward Weston Exhibition: Enduring Vision. We got a private viewing before it opened, enjoyed the reception and visited with a lot of people. Be sure to visit the Getty Museum if you are in Los Angeles. Kim will be giving a Point of View Talk on September 28, 2007. A special thanks to assistant curator Brett Abbott! Thanks Brett for taking good care of us.
