May is briskly passing
and we have been very busy since the beginning of our workshop
season. To date we have had our Studio Nude I Workshop, Platinum
Workshop with Randy Efros from Phoenix, Pixels to Platinum with
Mac Holbert of Nash Editions and last weekend a Studio Nude
Workshop with Mark Comon of Paul's Photo. It has been a lot of
fun!
A couple of weeks ago we went to Palm Springs for the Photo
Festival and took a workshop with Jock Sturges. It was fun,
informative but way too hot.
When we returned we judged 50 Photography Portfolio entries which
were submitted to our Photography Scholarship contest from
Monterey County Students. Picked 4 top winners and 12 Honorable
Mentions. The Awards Ceremony is Friday May 25, 6pm at the
Monterey Peninsula College Library in the Sam Karas Room. Come
join us celebrate these fine young photographers!
We are now preparing for our 4th Annual (Scholarship) Fine Print
Auction. The AUCTION PREVIEW will be up online in a few days. This
year it will be open for bidding ONLINE JUNE 11-15. Then on June
16th we will have the GALA AUCTION at the Carmel Art Association
with Hors d' oeuvres from A Moveable Feast and wines by Blackstone
Winery.

Friday May 25, Scholarship Awards Ceremony
The Weston Photography Education Association will be giving out 16
awards at the Awards Ceremony, 6pm Friday May 25, 2007 at the
Monterey Peninsula College Library in the Sam Karas Room. Please
come and celebrate with us!

The Weston Photography Education Association will by hosting their
4th Annual Fine Print Auction at the Carmel Art Association to
raise money for their Photography Scholarship Fund.
Donated works include Graham Nash, Roman Loranc, Kim Weston,
Huntington Witherill, Rod Dresser, Ryuijie, Leigh Weiner, Mac
Holbert, Martha Casanave, Chip Hooper, among others. $20 per
person (Admission deducted from purchase total) Hors d'oeuvres by
A Moveable Feast. Wines by Blackstone Winery. All proceeds go to
the Weston Scholarship Fund which benefits high school and college
