Notice: FOTO 3
CONFERENCE
Due to low enrollment in
The Environmental Figure Studies Workshop Kim Weston will not be traveling to the Foto 3 Conference to
teach with Peter LeGrand.
We are very sorry for this
inconvenience.
Sincerely Gina and Kim
Greetings!
April flowers are
scattered on the hillsides here on the California coast. It is
still chilly in the morning but it has been warming up
beautifully during the day.
April Print of
the Month - Nude in Robe 8x10 Silver Gelatin
Just in time for
our
Studio Nude I Workshop - this
weekend April 19 & 20, 2008. We still have some space open if
you are one of those last minute planners and want to join us.
We have 2 wonderful models to work with. We will be going to
Point Lobos to photograph (landscape) on Saturday and then have
a full day of photographing the nude here at Wildcat Hill.
But if you can't
make it this weekend we have one more space open for
"Developing Your Photographic Style" Workshop with
Kim and Huntington Witherill on May 9, 10 & 11th 2008. Many of
you know Huntington and his work. He and his wife Tracy have
been very generous to join us at most of our workshops.
Huntington brings his work to show and we have engaging
photographic discussions.
In this workshop you will have the chance to work with both
photographers in their respected fields. We will go out in the
field with Huntington, photograph at the famous Point Lobos
State Park and then meet at his home and go through his complete
photographic process! You will also get to experience working
along with Kim going through his process, from photographing the
nude to the darkroom processes to the final print presentation.
There will be print critiques - an important part of developing
your photographic style. Being able to see and discuss a
portfolio of your work will help Kim and Huntington to make
suggestions which can help you to further develop and refine
your approach. Sounds fun doesn't it? To see more of Huntington
Witherill work please visit his website at
www.huntingtonwitherill.com
give me a call or send me an email to register.
Photographing -
lots of it.
Kim has had the pleasure of working with Carrie Leigh here at
Wildcat Hill. Carrie came up from LA for a few days to
photograph with Kim. Besides working here we took her up to
Mittledorf Preserve where the largest Redwood tree in Monterey
County lives. It was quite impressive. Look for Kim in the
Spring issue of
Carrie Leigh's Nude Magazine
with a interview and also be in the lookout for Kim & Carrie's
works in the summer issue.
Tutorials
Kim has had the pleasure to work with Mac MacDonald on a 4 day
nude photography tutorial. It was fun exploring the different
ideas that Mac came up with. Kim got some really good work.
Kim's work will be going up on the new work page soon.
Workshops
Randy Efros brought a group out
from Phoenix for our first workshop of the year. We photographed
(landscape), developed and Randy taught everyone a new process
where you use Print out Paper. The participants all used their
4x5 camera's and made contact prints using this new method of
printing. It was a fun weekend. A little chilly but a lot of
fun. Thanks Randy and everyone who came.
