    • Hi Noele
We would love to have you join us for one of our workshops and to stay in Bodie House too! The workshop schedule is going up soon!

  1. This spot is truly Heaven on Earth. Stayed here one night year’s ago when the moon was full. You are lulled asleep by the sound of the ocean and the incredible air. But you are kept awake by imagining Edward and Charis chatting in the room, and the beauty of the moonlit landscape. This is the spot where I became a photographer, at long last.

  2. Hi, my wife and I are travelling (from Australia) through the Carmel area around about 22nd Feb 2014. I there any chance of staying around this time?

    • It was great to meet you both and share a little bit of photographic history with you. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and the wonderful books on the Weston Family.
Hope to see you again in the future.

  3. I stayed at Bodie House last May– breathtakingly beautiful area. Hiked to the ocean…you think you know Carmel–try the Highlands!! And to be inEdward Weston’s home and studio!!! Worth it!

  4. Kim and Gina~

Karlee and I returned to Cincinnati last night after a great week in California and the two nights we spent on Wildcat Hill were certainly the highlight of the trip.  Thanks to both of you for an unforgettable experience.  I’ve been a fan of Edward and Charis for a number of years, reading about their life together and the house and life they built on the Hill.  To get an opportunity to stand in the actual home, to see the darkroom and to stay in Bodie House, were, as I told Kim, akin to a baseball fan holding Babe Ruth’s bat.

Thanks also to both of you for the time you spent with us, answering our questions and letting us take pictures inside and outside your home.  Edward would be proud that his family is carrying on the tradition of the open door on Wildcat Hill.

It was a pleasure meeting both of you and getting the opportunity to visit.  I hope you have a great summer and that we will have an opportunity to meet again in the near future.

PS  The print of Spring, 1943 looks wonderful.  Now I have to decide where on my wall I want to hang it!
