Come to Big Sur to photograph and collaborate with experienced models on this old rustic family estate. Experience and capture the essence of Big Sur with its sweeping vistas and old growth redwood forests. We will have extensive gardens and a pool available for our use. Bring your ideas and imagination with you – there will be plenty of time and space available to make some fabulous fine art photography.

For our faithful workshop followers that have been to Wildcat Hill, here is a wonderful opportunity to come back and make some photographs with us at a new location!

Following the Weston Legacy

This two-day nude workshop (meet and greet on Friday evening 5-7 pm at our home in Carmel Highlands) offers a special opportunity for students to explore nude photography in Big Sur CA.

Photograph for 2 full days

Participants will get the opportunity to photograph the nude figure in 2 consecutive days. This allows time to get comfortable working with nude models and gives you another opportunity to photograph what you might have missed on the first day. This is a great way to add new content to your portfolio.

Working with Nude Models

We will focus on how to approach and work with models. Communication, composition, lighting are all important factors in getting a good photograph. Preconceived ideas; what are you photographing? What do you hope to get out of a session?

Locations

The class size is kept small with good model - student ratio. On the premises there will be several areas indoors and outdoors available to be photographing the nude in. Working in this way we have a maximum of time, space and privacy. If time permits one-on-one time with models may be arranged.

What to bring

Participants are encouraged to bring a portfolio of their work for viewing. 5 to 7 finished prints that have been matted and or presented for easy viewing. Students should bring their own film and equipment.

Dinner on Saturday Night

Guests will enjoy a Saturday-night dinner in our home and a fireside discussion of photography.

Experience

This nude workshop is open to all levels of experience and to film and digital cameras. Any size camera, film or digital is good for this class. Students must know how to operate their cameras.

Registration opens on January 2, 2013

Register early space is limited to 9 students.

Traveling to Big Sur from Carmel

We are recommending carpooling back and forth from Carmel to our location in Big Sur. Its about a 40 minute drive down the beautiful Big Sur Coast. The Friday night meeting will be at our house and we will also be having the Saturday night dinner here at our home in the Carmel Highlands.

There are a few hotels in Big Sur (Big Sur LodgeDeetjen's, Ventana, Post Ranch, Big Sur River Inn (and a few more) and also several camp grounds if you choose to go that route.
