2016 August POM - Nude on Gaudi Rooftop, Barcelona

The August POM "Nude on Gaudi Rooftop" was taken on the rooftop of Casa Mila, "La Padrera" in the very early morning. It is probably one of the most famous buildings of the "Catalan Modernisme" or Catalan Art Nouveau period. Today it's a creative space, a cultural center which hosts art exhibitions and connects present and future lines of thought. It's a learning space, where knowledge and learning are keys to the construction of a rich dynamic society. Casa Mila also offers accessible resources and services in its spaces and amenities. Kim and Gina, you were awesome hosts. Learning about the Weston legacy first hand was incredible. I was flattered to be able to show some of my work. Shooting side by side with Kim was inspiring. Gwen was awesome and just nailed each concept. Enjoying a delicious lunch and the conversation was enlightening. I could go on and on about the things I'll remember so fondly.

The bottom line is an expression of heartfelt gratitude for allowing Milan and I into your home and teaching us about the Weston Family Style of photography. We are all a sum of our life experiences. We had 2, 4 Generation Weston Shows hung consecutively at the same time, one at Viewpoint Gallery in Sacramento and one at the Scott Nichols Gallery in San Francisco.Both shows came down on June 4. We hope you had a chance to see some of the photographs. Thank you to the Viewpoint Gallery and to the Scott Nichols Gallery. And thanks to all that attended!

We have taught 2 Nude Photo Workshops, where we made some wonderful images, photographed with some talented artists and worked with our talented models, Jennifer Jones, Sara Streeter and a new model, Marian Liddell. It was a great experience.

We are going back to Paris in a few days! It's so exciting, we can't wait to see all of our friends, relax, photograph and go to Paris Photo again.The November Print of the Month "Nude in Arles" was taken in the beautifully remodeled Hotel Jules César in Arles France. October was a very busy month, with a Desert Nude Workshop with Mark Comon and a sold out Nude Photography Workshop here at Wildcat Hill and several One on One Workshops. It was pretty late in the year for our workshop at home and we were a little worried about the light, but it turned out to be perfect weather and we had a great time. Thanks to everyone that joined us and a special thanks to our wonderful models! Next year's 2016 Nude Photography Workshop schedule will be up very soon.

The August Print of the Month was made on our 2013 visit to France. This specially priced 8x10 photograph is available for $300 for the month of August. Thank you to our loyal Print of the Month Subscribers! The summer in Carmel has been quite nice. The sun has been shining and the garden is growing! Kim has started to work in his studio again. Building and painting sets. He is very inspired, especially after visiting our friend David Ligare's show at the Crocker Museum. It's interesting to watch the progression of Kim's work, what inspires him and who influences his vision. The July Print of the Month was made on our 2013 visit to France. This specially priced 8x10 photograph is available for $300 for the month of July. We are in the midst of a busy summer here in Carmel. So far this year, we have taught 3 Studio Nude Photography Workshops at our home. We are meeting so many new photographers and spending time with former workshop participants. We have been having a great time. The next few months are starting to fill up with The One on One Photography Workshops that Kim is teaching, they are very popular!

Kim and I have been back to photographing in the studio! Its been super fun. Can't wait to share them with you all! We are working on several new videos too!

Kim is going to the Shanghai Photo Festival in China this September and when he returns, we head straight out to teach The Desert Resort Figure Workshop on October 1-6, 2015. For the past 14 years, Gina & Kim Weston have been teaching Fine Art Nude Photography Workshops at their home on Wildcat Hill, the former home Edward Weston. Wildcat Hill is famous for the light that emanates through the skylight and windows. Just imagine when you attend our workshop, that you get to photograph under this same amazing light, at this historical location in Edward Weston's home! With more than 3 private locations to shoot in, we can easily accommodate up to 9 workshop participants. While most of the locations are indoors we also have several beautiful outside areas to photograph in too! This nude photography workshop is well organized with plenty of time and space that gives you time to relax and think about what you are photographing. This enables you to slow down, take your time and get your best photographs! Perfect for beginners who may be a little nervous about attending a nude workshop and great for all levels of photographers.

Join Kim Weston and Mark Comon for another creative retreat and photo workshop in the beautiful high desert. Capture the stunning big skies and scenery of the desert and unleash your creativity with expressive figures. Our shooting locations are the Anahata Springs Resort, a serene mineral water spa in the middle of the beautiful Desert Hot Springs and Joshua Tree National Park, a fantastic desert location with jumbo rocks and other-worldly vistas. We will practice figure modeling and photography amidst the mid-century designs of this spa retreat, in and around the resort, by the pool, and then we will venture out to photograph within the natural wonders of the surrounding desert area.
