Private Workshop on Wildcat Hill with Kim Weston

Private Workshop with Kim Weston

Kim and student setting up a scene in the studio with model Jennifer Jones

After we wrapped up our first workshop of the year in 2022, we welcomed John to Wildcat Hill for a private one on one workshop in the studio! Jennifer Jones had modeled for our weekend workshop and was available for the shoot on Monday. The weather wasn’t totally cooperative with us as it started to rain Monday morning. However, it created a massive soft box that resulted in some amazing light in the studio. Thankful for digital cameras with sensitive sensors!

It was a short tutorial, but we made the most of the time we had. We started the day with a tour of Edward’s home and darkroom followed by viewing work in the gallery. We were able to see some of John’s past work and get an idea of his style and approach to figure photography. One idea he wanted to experiment with was reflections. Luckily we have an abundance of mirrors and we were able to compose some interesting shots. From there we continued to build on ideas and move from scene to scene. It was a really fun day of photography and it was great working with Carmen. We are looking forward to seeing his final images from the day!
