2015 September Print of the Month and Arles!
This beautiful silver gelatin photograph was taken in the Hotel Jules Cesar, a former 17th century Carmelite convent which is now a hotel of character which combines elements of the 18th century with contemporary art, without forgetting its past. The renovation of the hotel was spearheaded by renowned fashion designer Christian Lacroix. We were visiting Lucien Clergue and Katharine Cooper, Lucien's printer at the time. It is such a cool hotel. So many colors, textures and style! What a great visit it was. Plus photos of our visit to the Arlesienne Chapel of Charity where we took in an exhibition by Christian Lacroix. 2015 August Print of the Month and More
The August Print of the Month was made on our 2013 visit to France. This specially priced 8x10 photograph is available for $300 for the month of August. Thank you to our loyal Print of the Month Subscribers! The summer in Carmel has been quite nice. The sun has been shining and the garden is growing! Kim has started to work in his studio again. Building and painting sets. He is very inspired, especially after visiting our friend David Ligare's show at the Crocker Museum. It's interesting to watch the progression of Kim's work, what inspires him and who influences his vision. 2015 July Print of the Month
The July Print of the Month was made on our 2013 visit to France. This specially priced 8x10 photograph is available for $300 for the month of July. We are in the midst of a busy summer here in Carmel. So far this year, we have taught 3 Studio Nude Photography Workshops at our home. We are meeting so many new photographers and spending time with former workshop participants. We have been having a great time. The next few months are starting to fill up with The One on One Photography Workshops that Kim is teaching, they are very popular!
Kim and I have been back to photographing in the studio! Its been super fun. Can't wait to share them with you all! We are working on several new videos too!
Kim is going to the Shanghai Photo Festival in China this September and when he returns, we head straight out to teach The Desert Resort Figure Workshop on October 1-6, 2015. Only 2 spots left for this workshop! Or maybe you can come to Wildcat Hill for our Fall (Wildcat Studio) Weston Nude Photography Workshop on October 23-25, 2015. Plenty of photographic opportunities ahead!
2015 June Print of the Month
The June Print of the Month was also made on our 2013 visit to France. We are moving right along with our POM's this year. Already in the 6th month - half way through. May was a busy month. After returning from Barcelona we came directly home to judge our 2015 Weston Scholarship Portfolio Contest - to hanging the show in the Marjorie's Evans Gallery to giving the awards to the recipients. Then straight into our first Wildcat Studio Nude which was a blast and then hosting another workshop 2 weeks later. We met some new photographers and saw some old friends too. The workshop was amazing with enough time to produce some excellent images. They have been coming to me by email and I hope to share some soon. Our next Wildcat Studio Nude Workshop here at the house is October 23-25.
We have another really cool workshop that you may be interested in attending - Desert Resort Figure Workshop coming up October 1-6, 2015, it's in Desert Hot Springs. We are going to take over the whole resort at Anahata Hot Springs (serene mineral water spa) and make it our own private studio set, there is a pool and hot mineral pool there too. We could do some cool underwater photography amongst other fun things! In the afternoon we will go and photograph out in Joshua Tree National Park. Why don't you join us? We would love to have you. It will be 4 days of creative, collaborative fun!

February Print of the Month "Nude and Peacock". Storytelling is one of Kim Weston's favorite things to do while he is photographing. When we were in France a few years ago, after teaching a workshop with photographer Kitty Cohen, we had the wonderful opportunity to photograph in Kitty's home. It is filled with art, antiques and quite a collection of animals. We first met Kitty when she came to the United States for our Studio Nude Workshop here at Wildcat Hill. We just released the January 2015 Print of the Month, "Waiting, (Wolf) Paris, France. 2014 October Print of the Month
The October print of the month is the 10th photograph in the 2014 Print of the Month Portfolio. The Print of the Month Portfolio is a collection of 8x10 silver gelatin photographs. All photographs are made by Kim Weston. He develops, prints and mounts his work for presentation. All photos are made from film. In this series he used his Mamiya RB67.
2014 September Print of the Month
This month’s POM “Wyoming Music Lesson” was originally inspired by a Helmut Newton Polaroid. It was taken at the YL Boyer Ranch at our Nude in the Landscape Workshop, co-taught with Mark Comon from Los Angeles. Stay tuned for “Palm Desert, Music Lesson”.
