2016 July POM - Nude in Bliss, Jerez, Spain
The 2016 July POM, "Nude in Bliss" was taken at Tio Pepe Winery in Jerez De LA Frontera, Spain! We spent the day touring, tasting, photographing and eating at one of the most famous sherry wineries in world - Bodegas Tio Pepe.
2016 June POM - Nude in Dali Museum, Figueres
The 2016 Nude in Dali Museum was taken in the Dali Museum in Figueres, Spain. The Dalí Theatre and Museum, is a museum of the artist Salvador Dalí in his home town of Figueres, in Catalonia, Spain. Dali is buried there in a crypt below the stage. We spent a morning in Dali's Museum with Migel Soler-Roig and our Spain Photo workshop group. We photographed with 4 amazing models in one of the most interesting creative museums in the world. While we were there we were so amazed and delighted and looking back it seems like a dream. Look at the window in this one room with the figure mimicking Dali's own sculpture. There was so much to take in. It was dark in many of the rooms, which was a challenge for Kim and his film camera. But he managed to create several wonderful iconic photographs on this trip! The Nude in Dali Museum is available until June 30th at the special offer of $300. Here you will also be able to view all of the 2016 Print of the Month photographs that have been offered this year. We hope you will enjoy them.

2016 May Print of the Month - Floating Nude, Barcelona
The 2016 May Print of the Month "Floating Nude" was photographed during our 2015 Nude Photo Workshop in Barcelona, Spain on the rooftop of Casa Milà better known as La Pedrera. Casa Milà is probably one of the most famous buildings of the Catalon Art Nouveau period and one of Antoni Gaudi's most ambitious works. It is a container that is a work of art in itself. "La Pedrera" has a catalogue of top level art exhibitions and events all year round, as well as a program of shows, lecture seasons and debates that set the tone for a dynamic, changing society. It is also a place where knowledge and learning are the keys to the construction of a rich, dynamic future society.
Under the Andalusian Sky - Valentín Madariaga Foundation
"Under the Andalusian Sky"Opening May 5 8PM-9PM Exhibit Dates: May 5 - July 12, 2016 Fundación Valentín de Madariaga Av María Luisa, s/n, 41013 Sevilla, Spain +34 954 36 60 72 "Under the Andalusian Sky" shows the work of 10 international photographers. Cristina Iturrioz, Paul Jones, Mille Kalsmose-Hjelmborg, Fran Marti, Juan Mas-Baga, Friedrich Saller, Miguel Soler-Roig, Michou Von Beschwitz, Kim Weston and Philip Young. In 2014 they followed the route that Washington Irving made in Andalusia, nearly two centuries ago. This route runs through the steps followed in 1829 by the romantic American writer and diplomat, fascinated by the wealth and exoticism of the Spanish-Muslim culture. After being exhibited in Tarragona, Barcelona and Ibiza, the show now arrives to Seville in its second year of scheduled tour around Spain, in museums and institutions.
2016 April Print of the Month - Casa Mila, La Pedrera, Barcelona
The 2016 April Print of the Month - Nude and Shadow, Gaudi was photographed on the top of La Pradera in Barcelona, Spain. Known as one of Gaudi's last buildings, before he dedicated himself to the building of the Sagrada Familia. The Casa Milà is one of the best known and most impressive buildings in Barcelona. It has no right angles. It is known as the Quarry house. We spent a memorable morning on the rooftop of this building as the sun came up over the horizon. It was amazing and inspiring to be there. Watching the morning sun come up and cast beautiful shadows along the walls and patios. It was enchanting. Here are a few snapshots we took while we spent the morning on the rooftop. We hope you enjoy these.
Edward, Brett, Kim and Zach Weston
We are getting ready for our Four Generations of Weston: Black and White at the Viewpoint Gallery in Sacramento. If the attendance is anything like it was at the National Steinbeck Center in 2014, we are in for a great celebration. There will be 2 openings. One will be an Invitational Artists Reception on Friday April 8, 6-8:30PM. The second opening will be the public opening on Saturday April 9 5-9PM. It will coincide with 2nd Saturday Art Walk in downtown Sacramento, when galleries and local businesses host an open house evening starting from 5:30-9PM. The Viewpoint Gallery will be showing the DVD "Growing up Weston" for a select group on Saturday afternoon.
We know many of you will not be able to attend so we wanted to share some of the photographs that will be in the show. Over 70 silver gelatin black and white photographs will be on view from Wednesday, April 6 to June 4, 2016. We hope you enjoy them and please make a point to come and say hello if you are coming to any of the openings or attending the Growing up Weston - film screening.
